Last Updated: 18 February 2026 Amsterdam, Netherlands

1. Introduction & controller identity

This Privacy Policy explains how Limpid & Co B.V. (ā€œweā€, ā€œusā€, ā€œourā€) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit this website or submit an enrolment request for our online calligraphy course. The course is taught online to adults living in Canada, and the operator is established in the Netherlands.

Data Controller: Limpid & Co B.V., Wakkerstraat 4 H, 1097 CE Amsterdam, Netherlands. You can contact us about privacy matters at [email protected] or by phone at +31 20 308 1247.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect only the information needed to run a request-first enrolment flow and to keep the site reliable. When you use the request form, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details: full name, email address, phone number.
  • Location context in Canada: your province or territory, to help with timing and communication.
  • Learning preferences: what you want to practise (foundational hand, pointed pen, or layout of a short piece) and any optional message you include.

When you browse the site, our hosting and security systems may process basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device/operating system, language settings, timestamps, and the pages you requested. This kind of data is used to deliver content, prevent abuse, and diagnose reliability issues.

We do not intentionally request sensitive or special-category information (such as health data, religious beliefs, political opinions), and we ask that you do not include it in the optional message field. We do not request government identification numbers or financial account details on this website.

3. Why we process data and legal basis

As a Netherlands-based operator, we process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch privacy law. We use personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • Responding to your request and handling the request → email/invoice → access-after-payment path (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) contract steps; and Art. 6(1)(a) consent where you explicitly provide information and ask us to contact you).
  • Operational communication about scheduling, materials, and delivery of course resources (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Site security and reliability, including logging and abuse prevention (Art. 6(1)(f) legitimate interests).
  • Legal obligations where applicable (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Automated decision-making (GDPR Art. 22): we do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Any intake decisions are made through ordinary human review.

4. Cookies & tracking

We use cookies to support core site functions and to remember your cookie choices. This website does not intentionally run third-party advertising pixels or marketing cookies by default. If such tools are ever added later, they will be controlled through the cookie preferences panel.

Essential cookies (always on)

These cookies are required for the site to function and to store your cookie settings. They do not require consent.

  • _site_session: site session continuity (session).
  • cookie_consent: stores your cookie choices (up to 12 months).

Analytics cookies (consent-based)

If enabled, analytics cookies help us understand which pages are read and how the site performs. You can enable or disable these at any time using ā€œManage cookie preferencesā€ in the footer.

Marketing cookies (consent-based)

If enabled, marketing cookies would be used for advertising measurement and remarketing. We keep this off unless you explicitly turn it on in the cookie preferences panel.

You can manage preferences using the cookie banner and modal, or by using your browser settings to remove or block cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

5. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We share personal data only when it is necessary to operate the website and respond to your request, or when we are required to do so by law. In practice, sharing is limited to:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that deliver the site and may maintain security logs.
  • Email and business communications used to reply to your request and, if applicable, issue an invoice and send program access details.

Where third parties act on our behalf, they are expected to process data under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

6. International transfers

Limpid & Co B.V. is based in the Netherlands, while learners and enquiries may come from Canada. This means personal data may be processed outside your province or territory, and potentially outside Canada, depending on your location and the systems used to deliver the site and respond by email.

Where data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection through contractual and organisational measures consistent with GDPR requirements.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Enrolment requests and related correspondence: up to 24 months from the last interaction, to allow for follow-ups, intakes, and continuity of support.
  • Basic security and server logs: typically up to 90 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse or maintain security.
  • Cookie preferences record stored in your browser: up to 12 months for cookie_consent (you can clear it earlier).

If we need to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations, we will do so for the required period and limit use to that purpose.

8. Your rights

If GDPR applies to your personal data, you may have the right to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise rights, contact us at [email protected].

We aim to respond within 30 days. If a request is complex, the response time may be extended, and we will tell you why.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP). Website: https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

9. Children

This site and program are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The ā€œLast Updatedā€ date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision took effect.
